Our Work

Research, strategy and change, end to end.

Four ways of working that hold together as one practice, from the first question in the room to the implication that moves a system.

01

Research

Practice-based insight on enterprise, women in transition, AI adoption and change, across fourteen African countries. Research designed to be used, not shelved.

02

Strategy

Helping organisations find direction through facilitation, not prescription. We build strategy with you, so it reflects the realities only you can see.

03

Change

Organisational, social and systems change, the kind that lasts because it is grounded in practice and owned by the people who must carry it forward.

04

Facilitation

Convening spaces where people and ideas move from knowledge into purposeful action, with the quiet signals in the room given somewhere to go.

Facilitating a working session
Our approach

We facilitate, so the strategy is owned by the people who carry it.

Every engagement is co-authored. We bring rigour, method and an outside eye; our partners bring the realities only they can see. The result is tested as it is made, and it holds up after we leave.

Rights, Gender & Social Justice

Women and inclusion run through every inquiry Akijul undertakes.

Akijul's grounding in social justice, gender and rights is not a closed chapter — it is applied deliberately, in one of two ways depending on what the context calls for: sometimes highlighted, where an assignment needs rights and governance expertise to lead — strategic planning for rights-based organisations, or human rights assessments of enterprises, for example; and sometimes incorporated, running as a lens through enterprise, strategy and capability work more broadly. The approach is chosen deliberately, not fixed in advance.

Research themes

Four threads in our thinking

01

Enterprise as Practice

The philosophy and methodology informing all of Akijul's work.

02

Women, Enterprise and Transition

Research on women navigating enterprise, transition and change.

03

AI and Enterprise Transformation

How organisations adopt and adapt to AI in real practice.

04

Creativity, Enterprise and Community

Where creative intelligence meets enterprise and community.

Our intellectual signature

From practice, to learning, to systems change.

Practice

The work itself, in the room, on the ground.

Learning

What that practice reliably teaches us.

Policy & Systems

The wider implications that make change last.
